What is building Green?

Building Green is the term for building with materials and systems that focus on environmental conservation practices. A Green roof is one that is covered with plants such as grass, flowers, and even trees. Because there are plants on the roof, it is much cooler than if the building had the typical flat, black roof. Johnson Roof Systems can help you to build a Green roof of your own. If you would like to reduce your energy costs, help the local environment, and turn your normal roof into a living work of art, Johnson Roof Systems can help.

Why build Green?
Going Green reduces the impact that our society has on the world around us.
Help the Environment:
Plants produce the oxygen that we need to live. A Green roof reduces the temperature of the building, thus reducing that building's consumption of energy. Additionally, Going Green helps to control dirty storm water runoff. The plants on a Green roof can absorb up to 60 percent of dirty rainwater before it runs into local sewer systems.
Benefit to the Property Owner:
By Going Green, we can also achieve economic benefits such as the reduction of energy costs, lower water bills, and increased property value.
